I recently took the time to go through my 2008 calendar and add up all the flights I had taken in the course of the year. Southwest had awarded me two free flights so I was curious to see just how many times I had flown. Are you ready for the grand total.... 48! I had to fight security 48 times, arrive at the airport 1 hour early 48 times, hear the emergency procedures 48 times.
2009 hasn't shown signs of slowing down in the travel department and I'm looking forward to what new cities and adventures this year takes me on.
Happy Travels.

Say What?!?
nou·veau (nōō'vō, nōō-vō') adj.
New and different, often fashionably so.
no·mad (nō'mād') n.
A member of a group of people who have no fixed home and move according to the seasons from place to place in search of food, water, and grazing land.
A person with no fixed residence who roams about; a wanderer.
Nouveau Nomad is me in a nutshell...a 21st century nomadic creature who hasn't put down roots (or even unpacked all her boxes) in quite some time and who is content to travel the continental U.S. and write about it.
Since I quite often find myself in a different city each week it's become hard for my friends and family to stay in touch. I hope that y'all enjoy my stories, rants and reflections.
